Key Turning Center Components & Configurations

Review the machine structures, tooling systems and workholding arrangements in our turning center range. Combine the model specification with the equipment needed for your machining process.

Flat-bed structure of a HAISEN CNC turning center

Flat-Bed Structure

A horizontal bed layout forms the basis of our flat-bed turning center models. Compare its working space and tooling arrangement against your machining process.

Horizontal Bed Layout
Slant-bed structure of a HAISEN CNC turning center

Slant-Bed Structure

Slant-bed models use an inclined machine layout with model-specific tooling and support arrangements. Review the structure alongside the machining envelope.

Chuck & Workholding

Match the chuck and clamping arrangement to your workpiece dimensions and machining process. Review chuck capacity separately from spindle bore.

Workpiece Clamping
Collet workholding arrangement in a CNC turning center

Collet Options

Collet workholding provides an alternative clamping arrangement on selected configurations. Check the clamping dimensions and spindle compatibility for your workpiece.

Workholding Options
Hydraulic tailstock in a HAISEN CNC turning center

Hydraulic Tailstock

Tailstock configurations support workpieces that require additional support during turning. Check tailstock availability and travel for the selected machine.

Workpiece Support

Gang Tooling

Gang-tool models arrange several tools on the slide. Tool positions and available working space are checked against the required machining sequence.

Tooling Layout
Power turret and driven-tool stations in a CNC turning center

Power Turret

Power-turret configurations accommodate driven tooling on compatible models. Tool stations, available functions and control requirements are specified for the chosen machine.

Driven Tooling
Dual-spindle configuration of a CNC turning center

Dual-Spindle Configuration

Dual-spindle models use a different spindle and tooling layout from single-spindle machines. Confirm the operating sequence and workholding for the specific model.

Model-Specific Layout

The illustrations show different configurations across the range. They do not represent standard equipment on every model.

BUYING INFORMATION

CNC Turning Center FAQs

Practical information for comparing machines, tooling arrangements and production configurations.

How do I choose a CNC turning center for my production?

Start with your workpiece dimensions, material, machining operations and production quantity. Compare maximum turning diameter and length, spindle specifications, workholding and the tooling arrangement. A drawing and process description help identify a suitable model and the equipment it requires.

What is the difference between gang-tool and turret models?

Gang-tool models carry several tools on a slide and position them through axis movement. Turret models index between tool stations. The suitable arrangement depends on the number of tools, workpiece clearances and machining sequence. Compare the actual tool layout of the models under consideration.

Do all turning centers have live tooling and a Y-axis?

Live tooling and Y-axis capabilities are available on selected models. The range includes power-turret machines and different Y-axis configurations. Identify the operations you need, then confirm the tooling, axis arrangement and control functions of the specific machine.

How should I compare twin-spindle configurations?

Review both spindle specifications, chuck arrangements and tooling layout. Paired spindle values describe the two spindles and should be considered separately. Discuss the required machining sequence and part-handling process to confirm how the selected model will be configured.

Does spindle bore determine the bar capacity?

Spindle bore describes the opening through the spindle. Usable bar capacity can also depend on the drawtube, chuck or collet arrangement and feeding equipment. Use the model's bar-capacity specification when planning bar-fed production.

Can the machine be supplied with automated feeding or loading?

The range includes bar-feeder, automatic part-receiver, gantry and robot handling options. Compatibility depends on the model, workholding, part geometry and production layout. Include workpiece dimensions, weight and the required operating sequence when discussing automation.

Which CNC controls are available?

Control options across the range include FANUC, SIEMENS and SYNTEC. Availability depends on the machine and its configuration. Specify the control functions, interface language and automation interfaces needed so the complete arrangement can be confirmed.

What information is needed for a turning center quotation?

Send a drawing or workpiece dimensions, material, required operations and production quantity. Include your preferred model, CNC control, tooling and automation requirements, together with the delivery destination. State any inspection or acceptance requirements for the quotation.
